About the Lofoten Islands Viking tour

Did you know the Vikings were highly active and widespread in Lofoten? In fact, Europe's longest chieftain's house is found in Lofoten! On this tour, you'll explore several sites where the Vikings left their mark, while learning about the culture and customs of the Viking Age. In true Viking spirit, the tour concludes with an (optional) dip in the Norwegian Sea, combined with an optional sauna experience

  • LofotR Viking Museum: More than just a museum, it's an experiential center. Here, you'll dive into Viking history, taste the traditional viking drink mead, and might decide to test your skills in axe throwing. You can even sail on a Viking ship!

  • Exploring Gimsøy: This was one of the oldest meeting places for Vikings in the north.

  • Delicious lunch at local Lofoten restaurant.

  • Optional: Swim and sauna in the footsteps of the Vikings! Immerse yourself in the beautiful Norwegian Sea. It might not be warm, but it's incredibly refreshing! When in the sauna, you can relax and gaze out over the landscape where the Vikings once sailed.
